Welcome to "The Elders" Burning Man Theme camp web site. (Fairlane and 7:30 for 2008)
From 4 to 6 each afternoon (Mon through Sat) we offer a "Brie, Bach, and Talk" get together. Last year the "Bach" got lost, it'll be back this year!
Come and join us for relaxed conversation about many, many topics. The Brie and wine are delicious too!
At other times just drop in and say hello. Last year we had impromptu drumming, massage and body painting. Totally unscheduled.
Who are we? A bunch of "elders", age wise from fifty or so up to the early seventies. We're, collectively, bicyclists, hikers, physicists, engineers, teachers, psychologists, oceanographers, counselors, artists, homebuilders, grandparents, naturalists, naturists and who knows what else. Mostly we're actively retired.
Our camp is very informal. We try to set it up so that spontaneous camp events, can just happen. We have a community open air shower, a sheltered massage table, and a community dome.
This year (2008) we are planning on many more community meals and will have a camp cook (Skip), and a pre burn sign up for individual meals. Mainly, we are planning more opportunity for meals together - whether Skip prepared, pot-lucked, or own concoctions.
We tend to have open minds about theology, drugs, nudity, music, art, porta potti's, and dust storms. But talk to any of us individually and you'll soon find a very varied number of viewpoints. All supported, or perhaps fossilized :) , by many years of life's experiences.
Last year we had a number of inquiries about folks wishing to camp with "The Elders." If that's you (we didn't keep lists!) send a note letting us know of your interests.
